Sandy on the web
Sometimes for the sake of it and sometimes not, I have been creating Sandy, Bedfordshire sites all over the web on social networking sites. I started with Facebook, as documented earlier; I have also created a group on Flickr, as promised. Below is a list/directory of Sandy sites I have set up:
- Sandy, Bedfordshire group on Facebook (password needed): has 10 members so far but almost no activity. I'm not sure Facebook groups are designed to have actual content on them anyway, so perhaps this doesn't matter.
- Sandy Bedfordshire network on Ning: a social networking site, much better for setting up this kind of thing than Facebook. You can bring together RSS feeds and feeds from Flickr groups into one page.
- Sandy, Bedfordshire group on MySpace. A do not have enough paracetomol to begin to think about editing a MySpace page. It's there, anyway.
- Sandy, Bedfordshire group on Flickr. Flickr seem shy about RSS feeds for these, although Bloglines managed to find an Atom feed and an RSS 2.0 feed, the latter of which I have just subscribed to. I am not utterly convinced it will work.
And a couple that I haven't set up:
- Sandy Bedfordshire article on Wikipedia. I make contributions to this and other local articles, when I am not tidying up the Trivia section of the In the Night Garden article.
- Sandy Community Website Forum on Sandy Bedfordshire UK community website.
Go thou and contribute. While we're listing Sandy things, some sources of Sandy news:
- Biggleswade Today, who publish a specific RSS feed of Sandy/Biggleswade news.
- BBC Beds, Bucks and Herts, the local news for the area, although a little broad in geographical scope. They do publish an RSS feed.
- Site news for the Sandy Bedfordshire UK community website. This is also useful for general Sandy news. Sadly there is no RSS feed.
- Alistair Burt from Theyworkforyou.com. An RSS feed of the local MP's appearances in Parliament is available. He seems mostly interested in Yarl's Wood as far as I can tell.
- Posts tagged sandy bedfordshire on Aurlog, i.e. this weblog. An RSS feed is available.
Any further suggestions welcome.

Strange news
One of the following current news stories is actually true:
- Pope Benedict XVI has been offered the job of head of marketing for Durex
- Jade Goody has been offered the job of professor of geography at Cambridge University
- Tony Blair has been offered the job of peace envoy to the Middle East
Although I did get my information from the BBC, so you have to take it with a pinch of salt.
